Which Version of EZproxy is on my Server?

Athens-enabled version of EZproxy

There are two different versions of EZproxy 4.0: a version that is Athens-enabled and a version that is not.

The Athens-enabled version includes "[Athens]" after the release date, such as "EZproxy 4.0a GA (2006-08-02) [Athens]".

Checking the version of EZproxy on your server

There are a variety of methods available to determine which version of EZproxy is running on your server.

  1. If you are running EZproxy for Linux or Solaris, you can issue a command like:

    /usr/local/ezproxy/ezproxy -v

changing /usr/local/ezproxy/ to the directory where EZproxy is installed.

  2. If you are running EZproxy for Windows, you can issue a command like:

    c:\ezproxy\ezproxy -v

changing c:\ezproxy\ to the directory where EZproxy is installed.

  3. With EZproxy for Windows, you can right-click on the ezproxy.exe file, select Properties, and go to the Version tab. Starting with EZproxy 2.4, the complete EZproxy version appears in the description. For older versions, you need to look in the "Other version information" section of this page and to find and click on "Product Version" to get the complete EZproxy version.

  4. The version appears on the EZproxy Administration page.

The current production version is EZproxy 4.0h GA (2007-07-11). If you are running an older version, you can use the Download link at the top of this page to find information on how to update to the current version.
